The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and the order of the cards from highest to lowest is: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A. The game is played in rounds, and each round begins with the President and Scum from the previous round shuffling the deck and dealing the cards. The President plays first and can play any combination of cards as long as the combination ranks higher than the previous turn. The other players must follow the suit and play cards of equal or higher value or pass if it is not their turn. The scum is always the last player to act and must give the President his 2 highest ranked cards in exchange for the President's 2 lowest ranked cards, same goes for 2nd and 3rd place with 1 card.
