Cependant, Nidora n'est pas une application de e-commerce, aucune transaction ne s'y fait. Elle se charge de connecter les gens et de leur offir un portail pour présenter leurs offres, services et éventuellement partager leur position. Nidora est une façon différente de faire du commerce en ligne. C'est une application qui ne nécessite pas d'intermédiaires, ce qui signifie pas de frais ni de restrictions. Chaque utilisateur peut poster des articles, contrôler son propre magasin en ajoutant, modifiant ou supprimant ses articles. Il est libre de modifier ses informations personnelles ainsi qu'en demander la suppression s'il le souhaite.
