Spēle Lingo rosinās atjautību un loģiskas spriešanas spējas. Turklāt, iespējams, ka tā arī papildinās jūsu latviešu valodas vārdu krājumu, jo datoram "padomā" ir 999 bieži un ne tik bieži sastopami piecburtu vārdi, kuri būs jāatmin. Tie ir lietvārdi vienskaitļa nominatīvā, kā arī daži daudzskaitlinieki. Dators "iedomājas" kādu vārdu, kas sastāv no pieciem burtiem un atklāj tikai pirmo burtu, bet spēlētājam dotas piecas iespējas, lai to atminētu. Dators par atbildi parāda tik daudz burtu uz zaļa fona, cik ir pareizi uzminētu burtu, un tik burtu uz dzeltena fona, cik ir pareizi uzminētu burtu, kas neatrodas pareizajās vietās. Ja rodas grūtības uzminēt vārdu, ir iespējams palūgt palīdzību - parādīt priekšā kādu no burtiem. Iesākumā jums tiek dotas 5 palīdzības. Papildus palīdzības ir iespējams arī nopirkt. Spēle turpinās tik ilgi, kamēr jums ir "dzīvības". Mērķis ir iegūt pēc iespējas vairāk punktu. Lai spēli padarītu azartiskāku un lai spēlētājiem būtu interesantāk sacensties savā starpā, tiek piedāvāta arī rekordu tabula.
