Our Shrewsbury app features over 400 places of historic interest spanning more than 1200 years. The main screen is a map with markers. Zoom in, find markers near you and click to see what's around. You can also search sites by historical period, and within those periods. So for example you can find every part of the town walls by searching for 'walls' in the medieval period. You can also search all sites. So you could look for 'town walls' here too. Or search for anything else! All search results are listed nearest to furthest from your current location. The app also includes: an overview of Shrewsbury's history, a full list of over 250 references used to compile the data, and a glossary of key architectural, historical and archaeological terms. This app is the result of careful scholarly research by heritage experts. We use professional and academic data in the public domain. Our bespoke database is compiled entirely by humans.
