The Tyndale Bible refers to William Tyndale’s groundbreaking 16th-century English translation of the Christian Scriptures, produced from Hebrew and Greek sources. Printed in the 1520s–1530s, it made the Bible accessible to ordinary English speakers at a time when such work was dangerous and often forbidden. Tyndale’s clear, rhythmic phrasing shaped modern English and heavily influenced later translations, especially the King James Version. His work endured despite persecution and martyrdom.
