Denna app är utgiven av Svenska Akademien och innehåller en mindre uppdatering av den andra upplagan av Svensk ordbok utgiven av Svenska Akademien (SO). Den första upplagan av ordboken publicerades 2009 och den andra 2021. Arbetet med uppdateringen har bedrivits vid Språkbanken, Institutionen för svenska, flerspråkighet och språkteknologi (tidigare Institutionen för svenska språket) vid Göteborgs universitet. Den andra upplagan av SO, som innehåller närmare 65 000 uppslagsord, erbjuder sina användare en ingående beskrivning av ett urval av ord i modern svenska. Tyngdpunkten ligger på de förtecknade ordens betydelse/r och användning i kombination med historiska uppgifter. I första hand vänder sig ordboken till personer med svenska som modersmål och inlärare av svenska på avancerad nivå. I ordboksartiklarna finner man bl.a. följande typer av upplysningar om uppslagsorden: - stavning - böjning - ordklass - uttal - betydelsebeskrivning - formell kommentar - stilnivå och bruklighet - betydelserelationer - kollokationer - konstruktioner - språkexempel - idiom - ordhistoria - verbalsubstantiv - sentenser. Appen är utvecklad av Wang.se i samarbete med forskargruppen vid Göteborgs universitet.
